Sisterhood Support Circles

Crazy Love Africa trains and supports our sisters within community cooperative groups. The sisterhood support circles meet at least twice monthly and create both a safe community and a model to promote motivation & success. The community reduces the stigma and isolation our sisters feel because of their HIV status thus bringing them confidence and hope.

“Both the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention emphasize support groups such as our Crazy Love Africa Sisterhood Support Circle, as one of the key strategies in the UN Global Plan for the elimination of pediatric AIDS by keeping mothers alive and thriving for their children. These models promote adherence to life-saving medications, impact on retention in care, quality of life, and HIV transmission.”USA.gov

I have witnessed a change in each of my sisters through their participation in our Sisterhood Support Circles. The best way to describe it is a renewed sense of joy, confidence, and happiness in each of them. They are free to be themselves and lead each other to a fulfilled life with friendships and community. They find that strength deep within themselves that they forgot they had. Our sisters guide each other with courage and hope to be leaders in their communities.” – Jess Wiederholt
