Sisterhood Savings Group

Our sister-to-sister savings and lending group has been established by the leadership of Crazy Love Africa sisters.  Members can save and others can borrow by requesting a loan out of the saved funds.

On the savings side, sisters who are able to put money into the savings group, do so once or twice a month. This allows members to commit themselves to save without access to a formal bank account.

On the lending side, our CLA community is able to draw on social capital to allow repayment to be more flexible than standard microfinance would be.

In the fight for gender equality in economic development, women’s empowerment has emerged as one of the leading ways to impact the lives of our sisters. Both micro-finance and community savings groups have been largely associated with progress of giving women sustainable economic growth and a strong voice in their communities.
